DeNeu and SSADH-Defizit e.V. team up to fund the work of Dr. Mariarita Bertoldi of Verona University. The researcher aims for describing the defect mechanism in silico – that means she explains to the computer how the gene of the patient looks like and the computer tries to explain what goes wrong during enzyme folding. This is the first step in a journey towards computer-designed drugs for SSADH-D. First results are published in this article: https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/21/22/8578/pdf.

DeNeu wants to promote and help the medical, scientific and technical research not only to improve the quality of life of the children with neurotransmitter diseases, but also to spread knowledge among doctors, pedagogues and society at large.
